The Dive Unit began in 1962. Initially, all Search and Rescue divers came from the San Joaquin Sports Divers, a Bakersfield area club which had been in existence since 1948.

To provide rescue and emergency services beneficial to public interest and educate the general public in safe outdoor and water practices.

EXPERIENCE

All Dive Team Members are required to have Advanced Diver SCUBA certification, over 40 logged open-water dives, and participate in monthly trainings.
